Here's a video showing how biomass energy works.
How does biomass work? - Sustainability
Biomass energy and biofuels are sustainable alternatives to fossil fuels, but there are concerns over indirect land-use changes. Land-use changes associated with biomass, have triggered the food-hunger debate, concerns about ecosystem changes (Azar, 2011) and also have problematised greenhouse gas assessments for biomass technologies (Kim et al, 2012; Lange, 2011).
Good news!!! Current work on micro-algae technologies could provide a sustainable energy source for biofuel production (Ahmad et al, 2011; Montingelli et al, 2015) for the future.
